An Exciting Season of RAVENOL in Rally Is About to Begin
The long wait is over: this weekend, from May 4th to 5th, the rally engines will be back roaring in the 31st ADAC Rally ‘Rund um die Sulinger Bärenklaue’. Together with their partner, RAVENOL, the organisers want to tie in with last year’s success by extending some of the premieres introduced last year. In addition to the German Rally Championship, DRM, and the ADAC Rallye Masters, the Sulingen schedule once again features the FIA European Rally Trophy. And there will be another minor change for the competitors and fans: for the first time, the 31st ADAC Rally ‘Rund um die Sulinger Bärenklaue’ will be the second round on the DRM calendar and not the third as it used to be.
As RAVENOL is involved in rallying as lubricant supplier of both factory and independent teams, numerous vehicles will be decorated with RAVENOL stickers this weekend.
With RAVENOL, Opel Motorsport is supported by a reliable long-term partner that supplies the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup with tailor-made lubricants for the engine, gearbox, and hydraulics areas.
One of the teams cooperating with the Werther-based lubricant manufacturer is the RAVENOL MOTORSPORT Rallye TEAM, a professional squad that keeps the Citroën DS3 R3T it contests the season with highly competitive with technical revisions. The two drivers – Torben Nebel and Gino Kruhs – and the mechanics are well aware of the RAVENOL racing oils’ efficiency and so, the team unconditionally recommends the engine oil RAVENOL RSE 10W-50. Furthermore, RAVENOL Racing Brake Fluid R325+ is used in the ALCON brake system.
Just like it was the case last year, the rally is a three day event. On Thursday, participants were already able to voluntarily participate in a shakedown, an evaluation test of sorts.
The somewhat relaxed Friday schedule comprises three special stages but on Saturday, the competitors have to clearly up the ante in a total of 10 special stages contested around Sulingen. Last year’s anniversary edition of the rally brought an additional premiere: For the first time, a spectators’ spot was installed at the famous former ammunition dump ‘IVG-Gelände’.
And the visitors may look forward to once again witnessing top-class rally action, there. “The efforts made in the past years absolutely paid off and so, we were able to grant the visitors access to the ‘IVG-Gelände’ for the first time, last year,” explains Rally Director Michael Thiesing. On Saturday evening, with 13 special stages contested and some 150 kilometres covered, the winners of the 31st ADAC Rallye ‘Rund um die Sulinger Bärenklaue’ will be expected in the Sulingen city center.
As in previous years, the service park with numerous RAVENOL branded vehicles will be on display at the Information Center and is of course accessible to all spectators.
