RAVENOL Newsletter - New OEM Approvals for RAVENOL WIV SAE 0W-30
We are happy to be able to present the following product with an additional approval from Volkswagen:
Now new with the Volkswagen approvals:
VW 503 00 / 506 00 / 506 01
Background Information on the Specifications:
- VW 503 00
Exceeds the requirements for VW 502 00 (HTHS 2.9-3.4) and is suitable for gasoline engines with extended maintenance intervals (WIV up to 30,000 km / 2 years). VW 503 00 has been superseded by VW 504 00.
- VW 506 00
For pump-nozzle injection diesel engines without extended maintenance intervals. - VW 506 01
For pump-nozzle injection diesel engines with extended maintenance intervals (WIV).
Oils with VW approvals 503 00 / 506 00 and 506 01 can be used for petrol and diesel engines with and without pump-nozzle injection units and extended maintenance intervals (WIV) from model year 2000 onwards. For pump-nozzle injection engines with extended maintenance intervals (WIV) specification 506 01 is to be used from 05/2001. A lubricant complying with specification 506 01 is currently still mandatory for R5 and V10 TDI engines manufactured prior to June 2006.
RAVENOL WIV SAE 0W-30 has successfully passed the following additional VW «in house» engine tests:

- PV1449 T-4 (Benzin) – VW 503 00
- PV1451 Fuel Economy – VW 503 00
- RNT1) TDI - PD VTW - VW 503 00 (350 h), VW 506 00 (350 h), VW 506 01 (650 h)
- Field Test Passat 1.9 TDI-PD – VW 506 00 (100 kkm), VW 506 01 (100 Nkkm)
- Durability in-house VW/Audi – VW 503 00 (Benzin), VW 503 01 (Benzin), VW 506 00 (VEP Diesel), VW 506 01 (VEP Diesel, PD Diesel)
